Tender description
Pathways to Independence (P2i) is a multi-agency housing related support service for young people aged 16-24 who reside in, or have a local connection to the Somerset area. P2i was developed during 2012/2013 as a response to the escalating issues around youth housing in Somerset and was launched in May 2013. First and foremost the service is designed to prevent homelessness by providing targeted prevention measures. If prevention is not possible the service will allow young people with housing related support needs to progress along a pathway of outcome focused needs led provision, until they are able to sustain independent living without the need for support. The service is currently jointly funded by Somerset County Council and the five District Councils within Somerset and was commissioned to be delivered by four providers each taking responsibility for a designated geographical area. The contracts for the delivery of the current service are due to expire on 31st December 2016 and as such a procurement process is scheduled for February 2016. Somerset County Council is holding a market engagement event on 22nd January 2016 and is inviting organisations that wish to hear about the future vision for Pathways to Independence (P2i) in Somerset. It is hoped that this event will enable a dialogue between SCC and any interested organisations on the future model and aspects of the potential procurement process due to launch in February 2016. Due to the venue size we ask that no more than two representatives attend from each organisation. Organisations that take part will not be advantaged or disadvantaged in any way in any future formal procurement. This notice does not represent a formal commitment by the Council to undertake a procurement procedure.
