Tender description

Fully Engaged Londoners – a London Conversation on Obesity This project aims to create an engagement opportunity to involve Londoners in a local conversation on obesity, with the purpose of understanding the public’s views and recommendations for how London can tackle this growing public health challenge in light of the existing evidence base and in the context of the national strategy due for release in January 2016. To deliver this requirement, the Healthy London Partnership Prevention Programme wishes to identify a supplier to design and conduct a public engagement Programme across London culminating in a ‘Citizens panel’ event. The purpose of this will be to explore how members representing the broader community view the current London situation and consider evidence from a range of agencies and experts, enabling them to develop a list of recommendations for London to consider as part of a future response to tackle this priority challenge. Key Skills and Experience required A dedicated team with significant experience in the design and delivery of innovative consultative engagement campaigns and models will be required to deliver the project within the specified timeframe. To deliver the scope of work detailed, the successful bidder will be able to demonstrate: - Experience of public/social/citizen research, with a focus on consultative and deliberative techniques and in a public health context - Strong track record in developing communication toolkits and key reporting materials for a broad audience - Strong track record in project management and delivery to specified timeframes - Experience and ability to manage delivery within a complex political and stakeholder context. Context - Healthy London Partnership A pan-London transformation unit – Healthy London Partnership (HLP) – was established on 1 May 2015 to undertake a range of collaborative transformation programmes on behalf of all of London’s Clinical Commissioning Groups and NHS England (London). The portfolio of thirteen programmes aims to realise whole system transformational change and support London in achieving its goal to be the healthiest global city in the world (as part of the Better Health for London aspirations). The prevention programme focuses on helping Londoners kick unhealthy habits (tackling smoking and alcohol), getting London fitter with better food, more exercise and healthier living (tackling obesity and childhood obesity) and on ensuring that the NHS is a good role model for workplace health. The programme team works with other programme teams within HLP, Public Health England, the GLA, Academic Health Science Networks and local commissioning and transformation teams to deliver the project outputs.
