Supplier List for enforcement work

Tender description

Wyre Council is inviting suppliers to apply for its supply list for enforcement work. Section 215 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 provides the Local Planning Authority with the power, in certain circumstances , to take steps requiring land to be cleaned up when its condition adversely affects the amenity of the area. If it appears that the amenity of the part of their area is being adversely affected by the condition of neighbouring land and buildings, they may serve a notice , on the owner, requiring that situation to be remedied. The Notice served will set out steps to be taken in a schedule of works, and specify a date by which the works should take place. The use of s215 is discretionary. Where a Notice is served and not complied with the Local Planning Authority have the right under S219 of the Act to undertake the works themselves , or by employing contractors, and recovering the costs from the landowner.
