WP3170 - Specialist Parenting Programmes

Tender description

The Council wishes to procure a licensed Early Intervention, specialist parenting programme which is evidenced based and has been subject to a satisfactory Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) to support families which provides an intervention which includes both parents and children. The service specification gives the context what is required from the parenting programme and what it needs to comprise of to train staff to deliver to parents in Walsall. To date in Walsall there has been a focus on providing training and support to multi agency professionals on a suite of evidence based parenting group support and one to one support programmes. The suite has included universal, targeted and specialist parenting programmes. Parenting is a key aspect of Early Help but is relevant for many circumstances and levels of need. We believe that through partnership working, commissioning the right programmes and ensuring parents are accessing the most appropriate programmes for them, we will see improved outcomes for children, young people, parents and the wider community.
