Interim Biowaste Treatment Services

Tender description

Buckinghamshire County Council (BCC or ?the Council?) as a Waste Disposal Authority (WDA), needs to procure an interim treatment solution for biowaste i.e. garden and kitchen waste collected by the Waste Collection Authorities (WCAs) in Buckinghamshire and presented to the Council; this is a legal obligation. There are four WCAs in Buckinghamshire namely: o Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC); o Chiltern District Council (CDC); o South Bucks District Council (SBDC); and o Wycombe District Council (WDC). The provision covers 4 lots namely: Lot 1: North Food (Food waste Collected by AVDC); Lot 2: North Green (Green Waste collected by AVDC); Lot 3: South Food (Food waste collected by CDC, SBDC and WDC); and Lot 4: South Green (Green Waste collected by CDC, SBDC, WDC and 7 Household Waste Recycling Centres). During the life of this contract, the Council may require the successful suppliers to receive and treat biowaste from neighbouring Authorities.
