Tender description

1.1. The Council’s aims to make it easier for people to travel around Warrington by bike or on foot. A signing project has been developed to install directional signs along a number of strategic walking and cycling routes. 1.2. The benefits are to assist pedestrians and cyclists in finding their way along the routes and to encourage further take up of walking and cycling. A phase 1 project was undertaken in 2014/15 along a route between Birchwood and Great Sankey and this has been well received by users. 1.3. This proposed project (phase 2) will be delivered on an initial 6 priority routes to be completed by the end of March 2016. Future phases will be delivered pending availability of resources. Rates for manufacturing/installation will be required in the event that the phase 2 contract is delivered early and the Council requires further routes to be signed up in 2015/16 and/or future years.
