Tender description
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is currently investigating the scope for a new contracting vehicle to provide minor civil works associated with carriageways around Greater Manchester, primarily around bus stations, interchanges, and road trafficking signals. The combined value of these works is currently being finalised and will be included in the formal Invitation to Tender, however the initial estimated total value is expected to be approximately £1.5m across a four year period. It should be noted that this estimate covers all works under this Contracting vehicle, and the values of the majority of individual works are expected to be between £10,000 and £150,000. The works may include, but are not limited to: • Carriageway replacement • Replacement/repair of concrete surfaces • Replacement of movement joints • Replacement/repair of block paving • Replacement/repair of macadam surfaces • Replacement/repair of drainage gullies • Excavation for and installation of: - Ducting for traffic signals, including draw ropes - Inspection chambers - Traffic signal controller bases - Carriageway loop chambers - Pole sockets - Kerbing - Dropped crossings - Tactile paving - Reinstatement of carriageway and footway - Carriageway surfacing, including anti-skid surfacing - Carriageway white lining TfGM is currently finalising the procurement strategy and contracting vehicle for this opportunity. The contracting vehicle is likely to be a framework agreement or dynamic purchasing system. TfGM will act as the Contracting Authority for this opportunity and are expected to be the primary user; however the contracting vehicle will be available for all organisations affiliated with TfGM including Transport for North, Rail North, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Association of Greater Manchester Authorities members (https://www.agma.gov.uk/), Passenger Transport Executive Group, PTEG members (http://www.pteg.net/) should they wish to utilise it.
