Tender description

The Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht (DAHG) is responsible for the conservation of natural habitats and species and the protection of biological diversity in Ireland. Since 2009, the National Parks and Wildlife Service of DAHG, has been preparing detailed site-specific conservation objectives for Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and Special Protection Areas (SPAs) in Ireland. To date, detailed conservation objectives have been published for over 110 Natura 2000 sites (these are published on a site-by-site basis as they are prepared at http://www.npws.ie/protectedsites/). Conservation objectives are based on the principle of defining favourable conservation condition for a particular habitat or species at a site level by identifying suitable attributes with targets.
