The Leicester Food Park is a strategic regeneration investment, designed to improve the physical innovation infrastructure for the sub region that has been built on a ‘brownfield’ site High View Close, Leicester. The £5.8m Food Park is funded by Leicester City Council and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2007-2013 programme. It has deliver 19,250 sq. ft. (1,790 sq. m.) of new, high quality, bespoke food grade (B1 use) units designed to encourage start-up and smaller grow-on units for food manufacturing businesses. The facility consists of 9 workspace units covering a range of sizes from 1,000 sq. ft. to 5,000 sq. ft, offering flexibility for start-up and smaller grow-on units. The project is delivering sustainable private sector employment and contributes towards rebalancing the economy towards private sector led growth.
