Overarching Contract for Aircraft Assisted Escape Systems Support

Tender description

The Fast Air Support Team (FAST), part of the UK Ministry of Defence, intends to incorporate the provision of spares and Post Design Services in respect of ejector seats for the Hawk T2 aircraft into its existing contract with Martin Baker Aircraft Company Ltd for Aircraft Assisted Escape Systems Support (Supply of Spares for Ejector Seats for the Hawk, Tornado and Tucano aircraft: Contract number FAST/00090). It is considered that this contract can be amended using the negotiated procedure without prior publication pursuant to Article 28(1)(e) Directive 2009/81/EC (Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011) for technical reasons. Only Martin Baker Aircraft Company Ltd currently has the specialist knowledge and access to the drawings for the Ejector Seats associated systems and fitments which are required to ensure that the required safety standards can be met for the provision of spares.
