Tender description

Sheffield Children's Hospital (SCH) needed to procure new Cisco components for its new hospital wing and upgrade some of the older components within its current Cisco network infrastructure to maintain supportability and also deliver performance improvements. The primary drivers for investment in this technology were to a) To provide a robust and resilient LAN between the two computer rooms and the four new build Hub rooms, providing gigabit bandwidth to the desk. b) To provide a high density WLAN in the new build to support the mobile communications system, as well as other mobile envisaged for the future like Guest internet access for patients. Further Competition was carried out under the Crown Commercial Service Technology Products (RM1054) framework
