GB-BRISTOL: PROCUREMENT OF PANTHER CLV FDSS MODIFICATION PACKS

Tender description

The Armoured Vehicles Programmes –In Service Platforms Team, operating within Defence Equipment and Support of the Ministry of Defence wishes to announce the placing of a Single Source contract with BAE Systems-Global Combat Systems Ltd for the Supply of 420 Fire Detection and Suppression System (FDSS) Modification Kits for embodiment onto the British Forces Panther Command Liaison Vehicle (CLV) Fleet. These kits will enable key identified safety issues with the operation of the Panther CLV FDSS to be rectified, reducing risk to the user when operating the vehicle on training exercises or on contingent operations with NATO and as part of the High Readiness Fleet attached to the Lead Armoured Battle Group. This contract was placed on a single source basis due to the significant safety risk of operating the vehicles without the modifications to the FDSS while on Operations and due to the manufacturing and delivery capability of BAE Systems to provide the kits within the timeframe required.
