UOW512 (ITT) for the provision of Structural and Civil Design Services in respect of the Austin House, Worcester (Working Title - The Art House)

Tender description

On 30 June 2015 the University acquired the site known as Austin House, Castle Street, Worcester. The premises are approximately 1500m2 in GIA and are currently used as a soft furnishings retail outlet, known as County Furnishings. The site provides excellent linkages to the University’s City Campus (opposite) and the recently acquired former City Council Offices (formerly Orchard, Graveney and Wyatt Houses). The site is also located within a relatively short distance of the University’s Riverside Campus and approximately 1 mile from the St John’s Campus which is where the majority of operations are carried out. The University wishes to appoint a Structural / Civil Engineer with relevant experience to further develop the feasibility scheme, take a comprehensive brief from representative users and design the scheme in accordance with that brief. It is anticipated the Structural/Civil Engineer will be employed by UW Developments Limited until the end of The Detail Design phase of the Schedule of Services (see Appendix 1). At the end of this stage of the design process it is anticipated the Structural/Civil Engineer will be novated to the contractor who will assume responsibility for the co-ordination of the production information.
