Tender description
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is named after the largest town and the smallest village. The borough covers an area of over 245 square miles in North Hampshire of which over 90% is rural and has a population of 170,000. The town attracts a large number of local and regional shoppers to its shopping centres at Festival Place, the Malls and the Top of town. Hard surfaced footpaths and precincts are swept between two and four times per year using smaller precinct sweepers. The council has a requirement for a compact sweeper to add to its current fleet for a range of tasks including road, pathway and precinct cleaning.
