SO13954; Contract Extension for Electricity Market Trading Advisor for Hinkley Point

This is an extension to the contract which was originally published on the archived Contracts Finder at the following link: https://data.gov.uk/data/contracts-finder-archive/contract/1638908/ The Chancellor of the Exchequer announced at the Spending Round that he has prequalified the new nuclear build project by EDF Energy plc at Hinkley Point in Somerset for a UK guarantee. HM Treasury is overseeing the development, structuring, documentation, credit assessment and pricing of such a guarantee. Detailed discussions are now underway with full financial close currently anticipated to take place in early 2015 with interim milestones beforehand. HM Treasury is seeking external specialist support in respect of: electricity trading due diligence in relation to season-ahead trading strategies; trading responses to changes in forecast output; ability to capture the market reference price; risk/cost and incentives in route to market arrangements; and regulatory compliance.
