Tender description
NHS Salford Clinical Commissioning Group (NHS Salford CCG) is undertaking a market testing exercise to explore the market capability of a Specialist Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ASD/ADHD) Service. This will take the form of a ‘Meet the Commissioner’ Event. NHS Salford CCG would like to meet with interested ASD/ADHD Providers who are in a position to provide: • a ‘local’ service (i.e. in Salford or very close to Salford geographically); and • a service which works very closely and collaboratively with the local mental health services. The proposed ASD/ADHD Service is a new specialist service designed to ‘bridge the service gap’ for a number of people with these conditions, who have not previously had these needs met by either the primary or secondary mental health services. This service will provide Step 3 of the Stepped Care Service Model, further details can be found in Appendix A. Specifically, the proposed Service will provide: • Clinical diagnosis and initial support/advice in order to improve the quality of life of individuals and their carers, in line with recognised good practice national strategy and NICE guidelines. Intervention will centre around individualised assessment, and diagnostic and focused post-diagnostic support (especially targeted for people with ASD and ADHD); • Monitoring the effectiveness of treatment & care; and • As a secondary function - providing advice, training and consultation to other staff in mental health/learning disabilities/mainstream services, including collaborative work with those in local authority, primary/acute health services, private and voluntary agencies. The agreed priority target client groups are adults with problems associated with ASD/ADHD. This will include younger adults transitioning from CAMHS to Adult services and/or in receipt of psychotropic medication requiring support by GPs.
