Tender description

Since 2011, sixteen council owned youth centres have been leased to the community, in line with the principles of Government agenda, the ?Big Society?. This has enabled management committees of the sixteen centres to take on the responsibility for delivering universal youth work in their communities, alongside managing and running the youth centres. This contract will support the Council in monitoring performance and data collection of the centres on behalf of the council, as well as providing the necessary ongoing support to the management committees. These committees have been operating the youth club facilities for a number of years and have become resilient and resourceful in tacking problems; however whilst some are now beginning to look at expanding their work, others are restricted by funding, capacity and on other issues and the contract aims to provide the support required to mitigate these challenges. A key aspect of the contract is how the successful provider will also contribute to a ?Buckinghamshire Youth? framework; which will include collaboration and partnership working with the ?Youth Service and the Information, Advice & Guidance provider, to improve outcomes for young people in Buckinghamshire.
