The Service required is for a Grounds Maintenance Contract that will deliver a range of highway, housing, corporate buildings ground maintenance works functions: which includes programmed projects Reactive Maintenance – i.e ad-hoc and emergency repairs and reinstatements to grass, shrub and hedge areas and any repairs regarding Enforcement issues, keeping free passage to carriageway and footway Routine Maintenance - i.e. regular maintenance of grass, shrub and hedge areas, cutting back basal growth, weed control in hard and soft landscaped areas, and countryside road maintenance (Flail Work) Programmed Projects - i.e. various horticultural works, planting, reinstatement works on grass, shrubs and hedge areas, and implementation of new soft and hard landscaping works, vegetation clearance, and hard and soft area weed control. Emergencies - i.e. 24-hour emergency call out related to the contract. Contract Length: The contract will be awarded for a period of 5 years - with an option of Five 1 year extensions or any part thereof, dependant on supplier performance and council requirements. Any future extension will be subject to an analysis and benchmarking study of the supplier market to ensure that the Council continues to obtain best value services and overall value for money.
