Appointment of a contractor to design and build The Stonebridge Primary School Expansion

Tender description

Brent Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to construct an expansion of The Stonebridge Primary School, Shakespeare Avenue, London, NW10 8NG by one form of entry (1 FE). The expansion project will consist of the following indicative stages: 1. Stage 1 - New two storey classroom block with multi purpose hall to be completed and handed over to the school 2. Stage 2 - Remodelling and renovation of the existing building most significantly the installation of a new lift and stair core 3. Stage 3 - Link bridge and external works including demolition of one of the detached school buildings. The contractor will be expected to complete the works within a 14 month programme. The new school block will be a two storey block hosting9 classrooms, group rooms, assembly hall and staff areas linked at first floor to the existing school building. A range of external works will be provided including a new MUGA, hard and soft play areas. The existing main school building is Grade II listed and there is a package of work within this building (including but not limited to)decorating, new hot water system, partitions to create further classrooms, new toilet provision, stair and lift core providing access to all floors.
