Provision of Wireless Connectivity

Tender description

The Defence School of Intelligence (DSI), part of the Ministry of Defence, is inviting solutions and costings for: a) the provision of a secure connection between their Restricted Training LAN (TLAN(R)) and the Internet; b) rapid reconfiguration of their training environments, beginning with a small scale test environment to include User Access Devices (UADs) and other training peripherals which are capable of wireless connectivity on the TLAN(R). The purpose of this is to rapidly reconfigure and modernise the DSI’s existing training environments to meet the current and future training requirements of the Defence Intelligence and Security Centre (JITG). This opportunity will consist of the following: Part 1: The provision of a connection between the Restricted Training LAN (TLAN(R)) and the Internet, to enable users to browse the Internet and download data from a Restricted terminal without compromising the integrity, confidentiality and availability of the Restricted data stored on TLAN(R). Part 2: The provision of a small scale test environment which allows a secure wireless portal in to the TLAN(R) network whilst providing the relevant ‘back-end’ architecture to enable iterative expansion in the future. This will consists of two parts as follows: A. The secure wireless portal in to the TLAN(R) network B. The provision of a small scale test environment in two different locations, which will consist of the supply and installation of all necessary equipment to the wireless portal in each location, along with the provision of relevant IT equipment and software that allows users to access and utilise the TLAN(R) through wireless capability.
