Provision of Funeral Service for Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a contractor to provide funeral services for Wexham Park Hospital, to include deceased from Heatherwood Hospital, as instructed by the Trust, supporting the Trust Mortuary Department and Patient Affairs Department. Funeral Service provision is required for patients who die but: a) have no next of kin; b) relatives cannot be traced; c) relatives cannot afford to pay or are unwilling to take responsibility; d) are babies under 24 weeks gestation The Trust wishes the successful contractor to provide a highly professional, quality, compassionate, sensitive service for the deceased patients, ensuring that the final arrangements for them are provided in a dignified manner whether or not mourners are in attendance. The requirement for Funeral Services varies each year and the number of instructions cannot be specified or guaranteed. The contract will be awarded for a period of 2 years 8 months to end on 31st July 2018, with an option to extend for up to 12 months, and will commence on 1st April 2016
