GRANT PROPOSALS TO IMPROVE THE TEACHING OF MATHS TO STUDENTS AGED 16 TO 19

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A GRANT AND NOT A CONTRACT. These grants will provide funding to support enhanced collaboration between 16-19 providers (including FE colleges, Sixth Form colleges, schools, academies, apprenticeship providers and independent providers) to secure improvement in the teaching of maths to 16-19 year olds in further education settings who do not hold A*-C GCSE maths. The objectives of these grants are: i. To share successful pedagogical approaches and strategies concerning the teaching of maths across two or more 16-19 providers. ii. To catalyse and sustain collaborative working between 16-19 providers to improve maths outcomes, particularly with regard to GCSE courses. iii. To support the development of a new cadre of specialist FE maths teachers through professional networks operating at a local, city or regional level. We will make funds available to 16-19 providers that are committed to working with other providers to secure and sustain improvements in maths, and propose suitable methods of facilitating this shared learning, so that less experienced institutions can benefit.
