Emergency Accommodation for Homeless Persons Framework Agreement

Tender description

Borough Council Wellingborough wishes to establish a Framework Agreement via which it can contract for its emergency accommodation requirements for homeless people. The Council uses hotel accommodation in most cases for emergency accommodation of a temporary homeless person or family under s188 and s193 of the Housing Act 1996 and has procedures in place to ensure that no one ever has to stay in a hotel for a significant period. Hotel accommodation for this purpose is not licensed under the Housing Act 2004 Part 2 as it provides temporary accommodation for people and families for a temporary period and is not their principal or main residence. Whilst the Council does not require a license it does require that accommodation is suitable and required standards are maintained.
