Supply and Delivery of a Near-Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy instrument

As part of the Bernal Project, UL is establishing a National Pharmaceutical Powder Processing and Analytical laboratory. Near-Infrared (NIR) spectrometer is currently available within the laboratory, but this is stationary. This tender document is for a Near-Infrared (NIR) spectrometer which can be used as a PAT tool for real-time monitoring of a particular process or equipment as well as being capable of being shut down and used again for different pharmaceutical continuous processes such as roller compaction, spray drying and extrusion. The NIR instrument is required to analyse pharmaceutical API and excipient materials, particularly in this case, moving ribbons being generated from a pharmaceutical blend compacted on roller compaction equipment in order to monitor the density of the ribbons. The instrument will also measure moisture in pharmaceutical blends which have been processed through a spray drying process. Importantly, in both processes, in-line measurement data from a number of locations is required to ensure the data is representative of the entire process and results need to be generated in near real time. The software will process the raw data in order to provide density and moisture results as required for each application.
