Provision of Civil Litigation for the Marine Management Organisation

Tender description

The Authority is looking for a supplier for the provision of a Civil Litigation Service for the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) over a 2 year period (plus one option year). The MMO legal team is a dedicated team at the heart of the MMO providing legal advice and assistance to a high professional standard in support for the wide and diverse range of functions for which the MMO has responsibility. However, the MMO legal team is relatively small and the requirements of the MMO's functions often creates a need for some additional supervised external legal resource in order to properly deal with some aspects of litigation and legislative drafting. Therefore the objective of this project is to establish a call-off agreement with a single supplier to run for three years (including the option year) to allow the MMO legal team to call on such external legal resource to support the MMO legal team in respect of work relating to civil litigation. The civil litigation support required is to support the MMO in external civil litigation aspects arising from the exercising of internal and external functions of the MMO as the lead regulator of the marine environment, e.g. judicial review, attendance at tribunals in relation to civil enforcement notices, attendance at employment
