The YOS Mentoring Service is required to work with 60 children and young people (boys and girls) per year. These children will be aged between 8 and 18 years. The service will target those most at risk of further offending and will receive referrals and relevant information from the YOS Case Manager. A minimum of 6 sessions per referral will be delivered, unless agreed otherwise between the Mentoring Service and YOS. ; The Mentoring Service is required to deliver individualised interventions, based on presenting need, as part of the overall YOS Plan. Interventions delivered by the mentoring service will be done so with the aim of preventing/reducing reoffending, protecting the public and reducing the young person's vulnerability. The mentoring service will have existing, appropriately trained and experienced mentors already available. There will be an agreed set of performance measures that will be monitored on a quarterly basis and an expectation that there is regular communication between the YOS and the Mentoring Service.
