Tender description
Article 7 of EU Regulation 999/2011 prohibits the use of animal protein in animal feed. However, Annex IV of the Regulation provides for certain exceptions to this prohibition. The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, as the competent authority for the control of animal feedingstuffs, is required to ensure strict adherence to the provisions of this legislation. Consequently inspections are carried out at all points throughout the feed chain and samples drawn for analysis by authorised officers of this Department. The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine invites tender proposals from suitably qualified laboratories for the analysis of these samples in accordance with Commission Regulation (EC) 152/2009 Annex VI, to determine the presence or otherwise of constituents of animal origin. Commission Regulation (EC) 152/2009, Annex VI sets out the official analytical method for determining constituents of animal origin for the control of feedingstuffs.
