Supply & Collection of Skips and Disposal of their contents of Highways Leaves

Every Autumn Bury Council's Street Cleansing Section which is based in the Department of Communities and Wellbeing is responsible for the clearing of fallen leaves from the carriageways and footways of the Borough. <b> </b> The work is carried out in a ten week period each year between October and December. The actual commencement date for each year is determined by the Street Cleansing Operations Manager to take into account variations in the leaf fall season resulting from climatic conditions. Please note for the period of the contract for autumn 2015 will be from the start of November through to December with the actual finishing date being notified to the successful bidder once the contract has commenced The Council is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to provide a skip service for the depositing of the leaves collected. The skips will be located at the Council's depot at Bury Cemetery, St Peters Road, Bury BL9 9RL. The successful provider will be responsible for collecting the skips once they are filled and disposing of their contents in line with current legislation regarding the disposal of leaves removed from the highway.
