Tender description
Dublin City Council (DCC) is seeking tenders from competent catering operators for the operation of a tearoom in St Patrick’s Park, on a commercial concession basis. The use of the tearoom is intended to enhance the attraction of the public amenity for the park’s many users. The preference would be for quality, fresh, homemade/baked and natural goods, all submissions will be considered in line with the selection and award criteria described in this document. The tearoom is a refurbished historical arch space in St. Patrick's Park, including internal seating and servery area with back store room and staff WC (26m2 in size). There is an external terrace seating area with feature polished concrete table under feature magnolia tree (70m2 in size). Refurbished public toilets are adjacent to the tearoom. Dublin City Council proposes to award a commercial concession for three years, with the option to extend for a further two periods of one year each (maximum five years in total). The concessionaire shall have an exclusive right to provide the service in the defined catering area. The concessionaire will be expected to achieve their earnings by maximising trade through pro-active and commercial management, and as such are expected to be proactive in promoting not only the tearoom, but the park as well. As a minimum the successful concessionaire must provide the following items at reasonable prices: • Freshly brewed coffee and tea • Range of cold drinks • Range of cakes and pastries • Range of filled rolls, baguettes and sandwiches However they should not feel restricted to just these items.
