BIM would like to invite tenders from suitable companies to provide interactive LED touch screens that offer connectivity for tutors and Learners and greater access to ‘online’ learning opportunities. With the development of ‘blended learning’ and the availability of more online presentations it is essential that BIM has access to and can offer the best facilities to provide a better learning experience for the seafood industry. Improvements to BIM facilities with LED touch screens at the National Fisheries College of Ireland (NFCI) Greencastle and Castletownbere will offer a focal point for contact with BIM staff and will serve as a resource for the seafood industry to provide Safety Seminars and Workshops on specialist topics such as Fishing Vessel Stability and an improved learning environment that will facilitate active learner participation using the screen, for example, registration with ComReg for Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs).
