Voluntary Sector Prospectus

Tender description

From March 2015, the Council changed the way that it commissioned services from the voluntary sector through the introduction of the voluntary sector prospectus. The aim is to transfer to a model of commissioning preventative services which is based on outcomes that promote transparency, stimulates innovation and promotes collaboration in the voluntary sector. At this stage, the focus of the prospectus will be on services commissioned by the Council. The long term aim is that the prospectus will incorporate services and funding from a wider range of partners and stakeholders including health services. As well as to support Adult Social Care (ASC) in commissioning high quality services from the voluntary sector and achieving a challenging efficiency programme, the prospectus will require each organisation to deliver specific outcomes for local people in the aim of using limited resources effectively. This Prospectus is an invitation to Voluntary Sector and Community Organisations of all types to work in collaboration to apply for one or more contracts that are aimed at widening public access to preventative Adult Social Care support services. Outcomes funded through the prospectus positively promote the preventative agenda, supporting independence, re-ablement and well-being with the aim of managing demand for longer-term support. The services this prospectus relates to are those for younger and older adults with Physical Disabilities, Mental Health needs, Learning Disabilities and all older people.
