Termination of Pregnancy services - consultation exercise

The CCGs that are based in Cheshire and Merseyside ** would like to announce an opportunity to providers who are interested in providing Termination of Pregnancy services in the Cheshire and Merseyside area. The service is to be provided to individuals who have an unplanned or unintended pregnancy and want to be referred to a Termination of Pregnancy service. The aim of this service is to provide individuals with access to a confidential and responsive service that supports them through the decision making process, informs them about the range of abortion methods available, undertakes the procedure, provides aftercare and counselling where requested. The CCGs are looking for service to be delivered in a way that enables individuals to access a Termination of Pregnancy service in a timely manner. Due to the nature of this service, CCGs will require the service to be provided in a geographical location that is convenient for individuals to access and is able to provide access to the full range of termination services. Cheshire and Merseyside Commissioning Support Unit (CMCSU) is procuring this service on behalf of the CCGs and will facilitate an initial engagement event with potential service providers. The event will be held on Thursday 1st October 2015, from 10.00am until 12.00pm in the large meeting room at the Halton Stadium, Lower House Lane, Widnes, Cheshire WA8 7DZ Any Providers wishing to attend this event must e-mail procurement@cmcsu.nhs.uk in advance of the meeting, providing contact the details of the delegates attending the event. Please note that organisations will be limited to 2 delegates per organisation.
