Tender description

NPWS is calling for tenders to undertake targeted sample surveys of the Marsh Fritillary that will assist Ireland meet its obligations for the species under the Habitats Directive. Targeted surveys have been carried out since 2011 covering areas of the country where the status of the species was poorly known. The results of these surveys have indicated that the species can be found on modified bogs, coastal heaths and grasslands, dunes and heath/grasslands in low uplands. Habitat on coastal sites often support the largest populations. Refer further to RFT
