Lot 1 - Stop Smoking Services (PH)

Tender description

Increase the availability and provision of high quality, cost effective stop smoking interventions in Newham. To meet the NICE guidelines for 5 % of the smoking population receiving stop smoking support. To meet the NICE guidelines for 35-70 % of those treated to achieve a 4 week quit outcome — 85 % of which is CO validated. Reduce smoking prevalence in the local population. Reduce the smoking prevalence in priority groups in the population — as defined. Reduce the prevalence of smoking related premature deaths and illness in Newham, thus impacting on reducing smoking related socio-economic and heath inequalities. Increase the number of people using the stop smoking service in Newham. Enable those wishing to stop smoking to be given the appropriate help through weekly behavioural and pharmacological support including NRT, Champix and Zyban for a maximum of 12 weeks. Offer all smoking cessation medication as first line treatment if appropriate, in accordance with NICE and Public Health England (PHE) guidance. Refer clients to any future commissioned Level 3 stop smoking service if unable to offer appropriate support. To follow NICE and PHE smoking cessation delivery and monitoring guidance.
