Tender description
Medway Council are holding a supplier event on 22nd October a St Georges in Chatham to present an overview of the Highway & Street Lighting network, the maintenance and capital projects of which will be tendered early in the new year. The event will consist of a presentation from the Head Of Highways, a Tender Tips presentation and a presentation on The Kent Business Portal / ProContract, which is the e-commerce tool Medway Council uses for all tendering. These presentations will be followed by the opportunity for informal discussions with the various service teams. The teams listed below will have fact sheets for the attendees to take away and will be happy to discuss their areas of work. It is envisaged that there will be 10 Service Team tables as listed below: Footpath and Carriageway Resurfacing Structures Medway Road Tunnel Drainage Winter Service and 24/7 Call Out Facility Highways Inspection and Safety Defect Repairs Street Lighting Capital Project and Adoptions Highway Management and Asset Management (mapping, crossovers and asset Mgt) Category Management (who will be running the tender via the portal) <b><u>Proposed Agenda</u></b> 8.30am - 9.00am Arrival / Refreshments 9.00am - 10.15am Scope & Overview of Highways & Street Lighting Network 10.15am - 10.30am Break 10.30am - 11.15am Tendering Tips 11.15am - 11.45am The Kent Business Portal / ProContract 11.45am - 1.45pm Informal Discussions with the Teams / Finger Buffet / Refreshments (Attendees are at liberty to leave the event at their own discretion at any time during this final session) Medway Council are also offering interested parties the opportunity for a tunnel tour during the pre-Christmas shutdown, in order to get an understanding of the scope of this element of the overall requirement. This will be limited to 2 representatives per contractor and will be scheduled as a group tour in the early evening of the 8th or 9th or 10th of December. This may be split into two groups depending on the number of interested parties.
