NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are inviting suitably qualified and experienced Providers to submit tenders for the provision of Integrated Elective Care Pathways (ENT, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics and Urology) and also Upper and Lower GI Diagnostic, Assessment and Advice Service. Existing elective care pathways are delivered by different providers. The vision underpinning Integrated Elective Care Pathways (IECPs) is to commission the entire elective specialty pathway from GP referral through to post-surgical follow up and community based therapy services for all patients, regardless of age or co-morbidity. Services will be provided by a wide range of healthcare professionals working across a variety of settings, enabling patients to access care closer to home, reducing waits and unnecessary visits to hospital. Services will be provided by qualified healthcare professionals including Consultants, Staff Grades, GPs with Special Interest, AHPs and Specialist Nurses, thereby enabling patients to access care closer to home, reducing waits and unnecessary visits to hospital which will improve health outcomes. It is also an aspiration that providers will work more collaboratively with other health and social care professionals including pharmacists, optometrists and mental health services as appropriate, to make best use of available expertise.
