Condition Testing / Inspection of Licensed Hackney Carriages and Private Hire Vehicles

Tender description

The Borough Council of Wellingborough is obliged to have inspection and testing facilities in place for licensed hackney carriage and private hire vehicles, and it is intended to award a contract for the provision of this service. The initial contract period will be for two years, with an option to extend this by 12 months at the sole discretion of the Council. The Council intend to issue contracts for testing and inspection to two separate contractors. This is intended to offer flexibility to the vehicle owners; and help ensure service standards remain competitive. It is up to the vehicle owners / drivers which contractor they use. Bidders must hold a valid and current DVSA certificate and the testing facilities must be situated no further than five (5) miles from the Borough boundary.
