The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) currently sellsregistrations through three distinct and separate selling routes: -Online ‘Buy Now’, Physical Auction αnd TimedAuction. DVLA intends appointing an auction services provider to act as its sole agent to offer for sale by way ofpublic auction, both at physical events and online, certain vehicle registration numbers (also known as marks)chosen by DVLA. In 1989, DVLA commenced sales of personalised vehicle registration numbers to capitaliseon the motoring public's demand for previously un-issued registrations. Sales of these Government assets areregarded as an important source of revenue for the Exchequer and to date over 2 000 000 000 GBP has beenraised with over 4 000 000 GBP registrations sold. The Agency considers DVLA auctions to be the flagship of itspersonalised registrations business. The sales are high-profile events that also serve to promote and enhancethe image of DVLA as an efficient and professional organisation.The Agency demands a high quality service from its auction service provider and the successful contractor will be required to continue and improve uponthe present high standards. DVLA wishes to procure auction services on a national (UK wide) basis from thesuccessful contractor. The following is a high level of the intended scope of the Services that will be provided bythe successful contractor: — Physical auctions and ancillary services, — Timed auctions and ancillary services, — DVLA auction marketing and associated promotional activity , — Hosting, design, content and functionality of website www.dvlaauction.co.uk The following aspects of the DVLA Personalised Registrations service are not within scope of this contract: —The online ‘Buy Now’ functionality-Hosting, design, content and functionality of Authority websites.
