Provision of a Research Analytics Package

Tender description

The Planning Office intends to procure a Research Analytics System which provides comparative information about citations data and the collaborative activities of its academic staff. The primary purpose of this system will be to provide the University’s Council and its senior managers with the relevant data to inform monitoring of the institutional KPIs relating to the Research and Influence sections of the University’s new Strategic Framework. The system will also be used in a number of other ways, which may include, but are not limited to, the following: • At School or College level to understand publication activities of academic colleagues and compare these with those at peer institutions • To inform the development and ongoing monitoring of collaborative arrangements with both academia and industry, including identifying gaps and opportunities, and understanding how collaboration can benefit all parties involved • Depending upon the response of the Funding Councils to the Independent Review of Metrics, to monitor progress against such metrics as the Funding Councils determine are relevant in the case of outputs The selected system should provide an easy-to-use, intuitive interface which enables flexible analysis of the relevant data according to the developing needs of the institution.
