Cornwall Adult Education is a major provider of learning opportunities for adults across Cornwall. Its mission is to provide affordable part-time community based adult learning opportunities to assist adults to achieve their full potential. It aims to contribute to social inclusion, stimulate economic development, widen participation in learning and promote a culture of lifelong learning by providing a learning programme which enables adults in Cornwall to develop their skills, knowledge, judgement, interests and creativity, according to their particular needs. Cornwall Adult Education works with approximately 5,000 learners each year with provision taking place at 19 centres and additional outreach venues. The Service receives funding from the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) (Adult Skills Budget, Community Learning and Apprenticeships), the Education Funding Agency (Programme of Study and Traineeships) and the European Social Fund.
