Tender description

Provide a mobile broadband satellite communication system that has the following seven mandatory criteria; 1. Operate on moving platform, i.e. vessel 2. Upload speeds of greater than 500kps, to provide high quality real time video upload with guaranteed streaming of data 3. Download speed greater than 1000kps 4. To be able to operate in equatorial waters of the Mid-Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico (Mexican waters) 5. To be compact and light weight, to be easily mobilised and demobilised on vessels of convenience • Satellite dome less than 30kg • Dome diameter less than 1m • Inboard electronics to be compact and light weight, ideally single unit. • Associated interconnection cables • Simple on board setup and maintenance 6. Assistance/training with initial/1st time setup of system 7. One year on-going support to help with any issues with the communication system 8. Delivery no later than 09/10/2015 The airtime contract will be established once this contract has been successfully awarded. The desired delivery date for the equipment is by the end of August 2015 in Edinburgh where the initial assistance with the set up will be required. If this is not possible due to time restraints then the device can be delivered to the ship, which will be in Southampton and must be there no later than October 9th 2015.
