The Operation & Management of Merseyway & Redrock Multi-Storey Car Parks in Stockport

As part of its regeneration programme for Stockport town centre, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) is promoting a leisure led development on the Great Egerton Street Car Park site, adjacent to Merseyway Shopping Centre in the heart of Stockport town centre. This is the development of a 10 screen multiplex cinema, alongside 38,000 sq. ft. of retail space at ground floor level along with a multi-storey car park with associated public realm, landscaping and highways works,known as Redrock. As part of these proposals, a new multi storey car park (Redrock Stockport MSCP) will be constructed to replace much of the existing surface car park at this location, Great Egerton Street. The Redrock Stockport MSCP will have approximately 340 spaces. It is the intention of SMBC to procure the management and operation of the proposed Redrock Stockport Multi-Storey Car Park (MSCP) and adjacent Merseyway MSCP which sits above Merseyway Shopping Centre (including the car parking above Debenhams). This represents pay on foot parking provision for around 1200 cars.
