Topographical Survey to include digital aerial photography ,remote surveying techniques, ground survey methods

Mayo County Council, in conjunction with National Roads Authority, are planning to carry out improvements to the N5, N26 and the N58 over the coming years. The works are likely to involve both online and offline carriageway construction, new structures, pavement overlay works, drainage, earthworks, accommodation works, fencing, utility diversions and other ancillary works. This survey will provide the background information to undertake a preliminary design and develop documentation for the statutory processes for each section of improvement works. In some cases the survey information may form part of a detailed topographical survey used for the detailed design process. The survey shall be undertaken by a mix of digital aerial photography ,remote surveying techniques, ground survey methods including GPS, laser scanning and conventional terrestrial instrumentation.
