Highways England is responsible for planning the long term future and development of the straetgic road network (SRN). The A1 (M) is part of the London to Scotland East Route which is a key section of the SRN, supporting the national, regional and local economies. It provides a link between London and Scotland as well as connecting some of our biggest cities, airports and ports. Highways England has concerns that emerging Harrogate District and City if York Council's local plan development allocations may adversley impact on the operation of key junctions and the A1(M) Junctions 46 -50 and the A169 between A1(M) junctions 59 and A19(T).
