Classroom Delivery over 2 days (new staff) and 1 day (refresher) with the flexibility to switch the main course for refresher courses if necessary. 2 day training and refresher to include: Effective strategies to manage challenging behaviour Understanding a robust psychological model, based on the work of la Vigna, and how to apply it to understanding challenging behaviour How to devise an effective Individual Behaviour Plan for pupils with challenging behaviour Legislation relating to difficult behaviour and physical intervention Dynamic Risk Assessment How to manage staff and pupils' feelings of stress and anxiety How to provided post-incident support How to physically intervene in a safe manner Training using a BILD accredited approach. Linking all of the above to SCE policies and procedures on RPI and managing challenging behaviour
