Telecare products support individuals or groups of individuals in their independent living, actively managing any associated risks. This is carried out through the use of remote monitoring, detection, location, response, prevention and/or mitigation of risks. These products are positioned at people, cares and support staff who need any type of external support (e.g. housing services, social care, and/or health services. To keep living independently (e.g. those with physical or learning disabilities mental health problems, the frail and older people, children, young adults or people who may have dementia or epileptic seizures). Telecare uses a combination of alarms and sensors linked to a communications device to enable remote monitoring. They may be used in conjunction with the wider array of standalone equipment or systems based devices to help people live independently.
