Provision of Street Market Management Service

Tender description

Cannock Chase Council has been trialling a weekly street market in Cannock Town Centre every Friday since November 2013. The aim of the trial was to assess whether a street market would add value and vibrancy to the Town Centre, to complement existing retail activities within the Town Centre and to increase footfall for the benefit of all Town Centre businesses. Following a successful trial period the Council now wishes to appoint a Market Operator for a period of 3 years with an opportunity to extend for one further year. The Operator will be required to provide a sustainable high quality street market that may incorporate general market stalls but also has with an emphasis on food, craft/artisan/self-produced and speciality goods. The street market must work with and benefit existing retailers to add value to the Town Centre with the aim of bringing in additional visitors.
