Tender description
CIT Careers Service is a free, confidential service committed to supporting and encouraging students to reach their academic and personal potential. The Careers Service works with Students, Employers and the wider CIT community to provide student-centered, careers education and guidance for the benefit of the individual’s professional and employability skills development. The Careers Service is available to all full-time registered students of the Institute, as well as Apprentice, Springboard and ICT Skills students. In addition to this, the service also provides guidance to graduates, who were full-time students, for up to one year after completing their qualification. www.mycit.ie/careers Tendering individuals/organisations should provide the services detailed below as part of their submissions. The successful tenderer will form part of the existing CIT Careers Service team and will have access to the necessary resources needed to undertake the following activities. 1. In line with the ethos of the CIT Careers Service, the successful applicant will be required to provide student-centered, careers education and guidance for the benefit of the individual’s personal, professional and employability skills development. 2. Provide guidance and information to applicable students and recent graduates through one-to-one structured appointments, drop-in sessions, phone queries and email. Address the following common topics*; a. Applying for Jobs – CV Preparation & Tailoring; Application Form Completion b. Interview Preparation – Technique & Practice c. Job-hunting & Networking d. Career Options & Career Planning e. Course Change & Reorientation f. Further Education & Training Options/Pathways g. Study Skills & Organisation h. *This is not an exhaustive list. Follow up sessions or topical research may also be required after the appointment so flexibility is important. 3. Manage one to two, hour-long CV and Advice Clinics on campus each week.
