Tender description
The Dance and Drama Awards (DaDA) scheme offers income assessed support for tuition fees and living costs at a number of high quality private dance and drama institutions in England. DaDA funding is intended to provide a contribution to the costs of participating for talented individuals who want to become professional dancers and actors. Eligible institutions – who become part of the scheme via an approved supplier process – are allocated DaDA funding by the Education Funding Agency (EFA) and are responsible for determining which students receive financial help from the scheme. Institutions assess which students, at audition, have the most talent and potential to succeed in the profession. They then assess the amount of DaDA funding each identified individual is entitled to on the basis of their household income, using nationally set income thresholds and guidelines. The maximum household income threshold for DaDA support is £90,000. The purpose of this compliance exercise is to establish a list of suppliers that meet the EFA’s requirements to deliver the DaDA scheme from the 2017 to 2018 academic year. Once this exercise is complete, the successful institutions will be placed on an Approved Suppliers List, from which the EFA will determine which institutions will be awarded a contract for delivery of the DaDA scheme. Submission of a completed application form does not imply that the applicant will be awarded a contract. Where an institution is successful in gaining Approved Supplier status, this does not guarantee that a contract and funding will be awarded.
