Scientific - Pipette Calibration and Maintenance

NIBSC, a centre of the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (the Agency), is looking for a supplier to undertake on-site maintenance and calibration of its pipettes. Both single and multichannel pipettes from all the major manufacturers are used and operated under a variety of quality management systems. NIBSC will require the successful supplier to service and calibrate pipettes to UKAS (or equivalent national accreditation body) and manufacturer’s specification. NIBSC has approximately 600 pipettes requiring UKAS (or equivalent national accreditation body) service and calibration, approximately 90 of which are Multichannels. These are currently divided between 4 clinics during the year. In addition there are 550 pipettes in the non-accredited clinic which require service and calibration to manufacturer’s specification, approximately 100 of which are Multichannels. These take place twice a year. More details regarding current arrangements are provided within this document.
